History
- The House of Clocks was established in 1983 in Idar-Oberstein by Hanne & Ray Halter.
- In
1986 Mrs. & Mr. Halter moved to Kaiserslautern-Einsiedlerhof near
Ramstein Airbase and managed by the end of the 80's that the House of
Clocks became the first address for clocks and gifts in South-West
Germany.
- In 1996 Mrs. Steffi
Barsties and her son Kai Barsties took over the House of Clocks from
the Halter's. They continued the business successfuly and expanded in
the time since.
- In October 1997
Kai died at the age of 20 in an accident and Mr. Thomas M. Barsties
assumed the position of his son as the General manager.
- In
all the years the House of Clocks served the American Military
Community of Kaiserslautern and has a lot of satisfied customers all
over the world.
- In September 2001 the House of Clocks opened the first Lladró store in Germany under the responsibility of Ms. Kira Barsties.
- Today
the House of Clocks is the largest Lladró retailer and one of the
largest cuckoo clock, Hummel figurine and Steiff animal dealers in
Germany.
